Thirteen Reasons Why( Book Review)

It’s finally today that I finished reading thirteen reasons why. The book I’ve been craving ever since I saw it at the crossword store and when one of my Instagram mutuals posted about the web series in their story. I never knew what the book was about when I got the giddy feeling in my stomach on seeing the paperback. But I knew it was about teen issues ,if that makes any sense. I never knew I could relate to a book that much. You know the feeling when you just get hooked up to a book, the character is a similar version of you, same feelings and everything.

‘Hannah Baker- the teen who took her own life’ What did you think when you read that statement right now? A coward girl who couldn’t even live life?huh?what a sore loser. Or maybe thinking she was just an kmmature teen ,she had great life left ahead of her which she let loose. But,did you ever try to think this in a different way like ” what would cause a happy child to kill herself? The traumas that led her to believe dying is the only option .”

Here I introduce Hannah Baker-,the character out of every book i’ve read i realte to the most. She tried seeking for hope, too hard. Until finally the hope turned into disappointment, worthlessness and finally death. You see,she wasn’t born a depressed child. The circumstances forced her to be in. For example, the number of times certain amount of people made her a skeptical person, ruined her reputation .Ranging from Justin Foley to Mr Porter ( who wasn’t much of blame like Clay) who emotionally crumbled Hannah to a point where the only solution she thought of was suicide. The worst one described in the tapes in my opinion were Alex ,Tyler and Bryce (not in chronological order). Alex for ruining his reputation the most(At least she came to know about the true colours of Jessica then) ,Tyler for ruining her sense of security in her own home and lastly Bryer for making her loose her last or rather second last ray of hope for life left.

But it’s true that Clay wouldn’t be the same person he is now after listening to the tapes if he didn’t hear to Hannah’s cassettes. It was because of hearing that he kind of saved Skye( which Jay left a mystery for what happened ,but I choose this for myself to believe :p ) .If it weren’t for the tapes,he wouldn’t have gotten the courage to call out Skye like he didn’t with Hannah. He left Hannah when he asked him to (which he regrets) not knowing that Hannah needed him but didn’t have the strength to admit .I mean which depressed person would seek for help to someone themselves? Clay being blind to this knowledge earlier couldn’t understand, it wasn’t his fault though. Depressed persons like me hide depression really well. But we got our moral peeps, Don’t be ignorant to anyone or hurt someone deliberately. Who knows ,some people take the very small thing (if even a joke) very seriously and it causes a lot of explosions in their brains, like it does to me. And always notice the signs of a suicidal person, they do a great job at hiding their emotions like you at hiding dark circles with your concealor.

Diary Entry Day 1

20 Nov

Its like the only thing pouring down in my viens is anxiety,my body can never get enough of it.Just by downpour of a word with me,I either take my toll on them or breakdown. And,did I forgot to tell you what both result in?I welcome a new scar. It’s like I have no control in life,I have no control on myself,no control on what people think about me,no control on my feelings. And it’s too frustrating. I’ve nearly given up on this life and I don’t know what to do!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
